Going into this project, we knew nothing about boat restoration. Youtube and internet forums served as our classroom. A close friend of ours found an overgrown sail boat abandoned in Grotton, Connecticut. The hull was a 1964 Rhodes 19, a true classic. After seeing the completion of Hull #1, another friend shared an interest in restoring a classic boat. We helped him find the perfect one, a 1981 Hydra Sport 24 from Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. A 1969 Mako 19 pulled from the weeds in Westerly, Rhode Island.
